Black Cherry Cube

I had been working to achieve a nice black cherry color using Procion dyes. Further research and experimenting resulted in being able to discharge certain colors back to white. Oh happy days! I just had to make a quilt with these discoveries.

Using BJ's Cabin blocks (inspired from tradition log cabin blocks), I assembled the crazy blocks into the cube design. Fabrics include hand dyed and stamped cottons, commercial batiks, satins, silks, liquid lame, and metallic polyesters Netting was used for shading. "Black Cherry Cubes" was free motion machine quilted, the quilt measures 30" by 40".
