After the Storm at Sea wall hanging quilt constructed by BJ Reed won a Third Place Traditional Wall category at the 10th Annual Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza held at Fort Washington in September 2003. Foundation pieced in my D1 hoop from my original digitized design derived from the traditional pieced storm at sea pattern. Hundreds of various colored fabrics were used, not one white fabric. All fabrics are either hand dyed or batiks. Heavy free motion non-marked quilting over shimmering netting. Size 27 by 34 inches. Click to see close ups: Close Up 1, Close Up 2.
