Happy New Years All! I'm kicking off the new year with my "Bytes & Piecemaking" Newsletter. It's been awhile since I've kept regular communication but hope to update more regularly now. Check the website for "What's New" to find the latest newsletter, here I'll keep you updated on my new works, exhibition locations, class offering, customer's work, teaching schedule, and web site updates.

As many of you know I've been working on my London's City & Guilds online coursework over these past four years. I'm happy to announce that I received my certificate for my Diploma course in late December 2006! This is the final course in the Patchwork&Quilting series and I am really happy to be able to claim to be the FIRST in the world to finish these three courses online...isn't the internet wonderful! Linda and Laura Kemshall were my tutors, they made a beautiful exhibition of my work on their site, CLICK HERE to view. My large assessment piece, won a blue ribbon, is shown Horsepower: Don't Fence Me In

"Bytes & Piecemaking" or "Bytes" for short - online studio classes will be offered so that you too can enjoy an online training experience. Find a variety of classes, from short one-of-a-kind fiber art techniques to completing a finished project. Arrange to start the class to suit your schedule. When you sign up, I will provide the detailed written instructions with many graphic in PDF format. You will also be pointed to a student-only Yahoo group where I will be the instructor to answer your questions about techniques, materials, principles of design, etc. I am really anxious to share my City & Guild's training and experiences with others! To view the offerings CLICK HERE. My first Bytes offering will be Natural Rust Dyeing, Ink Jet Paper Transfer Images, Mum's the Word Quilted Pillow (shown below) and Don't Fence Me In - II Quilt. Check back as I'll be adding and updating online course offerings.

Some others news - we're getting a puppy on January 4th, 2007, his name is Zipper. Also I've "adopted" a female solider from this program http://www.adoptaussoldier.org/ and am waiting to hear some of her needs before sending her a care package, my little part to keep in touch with those soldiers who defend our freedoms.

That's it for now. HAPPY NEW YEARS!
